Kristin Johnson is a 2005 graduate of Greenforest McCalep Christian Academy where she was involved in numerous clubs, served as SGA President, and captain of the girls basketball team. She graduated Valedictorian of her class then matriculated through the illustrious SC State University (B.S. Accounting) and NC A&T State University (M.S. Applied Math).
Kristin’s collegiate career solidified her foundation for leadership and invoked an innovative spirit as she founded an Actuarial organization, served as President of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), captain of SC State’s Women’s Basketball team, and led several existing collegiate organizations. Post-college Kristin excelled as a leader in GE Capital’s inaugural Risk Management Program before transitioning into Actuarial Science, Education, and Entrepreneurship. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Science and Technology with a concentration in Data Science and Analytics from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
Paula Bugg-Wrenn advanced through Greenforest McCalep Christian Academy from the age of 3 until 12th grade when she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2009. Paula was crowned Ms. GCA in her 11th-grade year. She participated on numerous sports teams (cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, and soccer) and Academic clubs (inaugural class of the Jr. Beta Club, Beta Club, National Honor Society).
Paula continued her education at The University of Georgia, majoring in Biological Science. In May of 2020, she received her MD degree from Meharry Medical College as a fifth generation Bugg Meharrian. She completed Wellstar Family Medicine Residency Program in June 2023. She was married at Greenforest in 2017 to Terrance Wrenn and they have one son – Alexander Wrenn.
Steven Dial is an Emmy Award winning Reporter and Political Host at Fox 4 News in Dallas, Texas. A Decatur, Georgia native, Steven graduated from Greenforest McCalep Christian Academy in 2007. He earned his Bachelor degree in 2011 from Claflin University, the first Historically Black College in South Carolina. In 2023, he earned his Masters in Communication Education from Grand Canyon University.
Steven has worked in South Carolina, Florida and Missouri before calling Dallas home. Mentoring is an important part of his life. For more than ten years he has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters. He also serves on the Big Leaders Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Dallas. In 2020 Steven was named an inaugural member of the Claflin University "Outstanding 40 under 40" class. He is a proud Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and a member of the fraternities 40 under 40, Beta class. Steven is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
